I am writing to express my interest in the opportunity with your organization as a Doctorate of Applied Mathematics graduate with a strong interest in mathematical medicine in industry settings.

Currently, I am employed as a Research Coordinator at the University of Sunnybank’s Office of Mathematical Medicine and Biology, where I focus on mathematical modeling of lung cancer treatments and surgery and chemotherapy sequencing. Previously, I served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics, where my responsibilities included instructional activities, grading papers and tests, proctoring labs, and holding office hours.

I have also contributed to research and writing efforts, notably assisting with "Chapter 2: Mathematical Modeling and Lung Cancer" in Erick Miska’s Experimentally-driven mathematical modeling to improve combination targeted and cytotoxic therapy for small cell lung cancer (Persimmon Press). With over 6 years of research and teaching experience, along with a recent Doctorate, Master of Applied Mathematics and Physics, and Bachelor of Education (Mathematics), I am well-equipped for this role.

I have appreciated the opportunities for research and teaching at the University of Sunnybank, and I am now eager to transition into an industry position where I can utilize my expertise in applied mathematics to drive the commercial R&D of mathematical medicine.
